Bard Harrington Wall (WI 3+)

On Sunday, February the 27th, we climbed the Bard Harrington wall.

It was in really fat conditions.

The first pitch is not super steep.

The second pitch follows the division between the ice and the rock. I wish I had some stoppers to protect that better. A section was crapy ice that demanded some care.

Miguel led the third pitch which was plenty steep and sustained.

The last pitch it had a tricky steep section of ice and the rest was a relatively unprotected climb through steep snow. The picture is taken from the last belay, looking at the last section of easy snow. Some people can be seen at the botom of the canyon (in higher definition, I guess).

We climb the thing in 6h 30min and made it back to the car in 1h 10min, because  we took 10 min to climb to a place where I had my dropped sun glasses. Thanks Miguel for picking them up. You can see the wall in harder conditions here.
